Here comes one of the sickest Italian bands Putridity they are so damn brutal that you can stay breathless. This album is absolutely convulsive, with an obvious level of quality shining through the 9 gruesome tracks playing all materials with a lot of precision and many technical riffing in order to let this album sounds brutal enough to go mentally insane, add to this crazy mixture a sickening guttural vocals digging up from the deepest entrails with some interesting varied rhythms and an ultra fast drumming. Everything is mixed up very well that you can easily get into the psycho gory universe that this album has to offer and that only by listening to the intro, you just have to give free way to your imagination and let the tracks complete the rest. You can feel that these guys have a lot of potential with a killer instinct of composing and writing but globally it sounds pretty similar to Devourment and if I have to find a bad side to this album it would be the lack of the personal touch because even if it sounds very massive there is nothing new added. Brutal. [ 8.0 ] |

From the depths of Permeated records comes Putridity. From the "saw" intro into the next track this band begins to grind your flesh away. Like most brutal death metal bands these guys have plenty of speedy to mid-paced bone crushing riffs and vocals that are extremely gutteral. Most the tracks are quite short and average about 2 to 3 minutes long except for track 9 that is over 7 minutes long. One of my favorite songs off this album is "Necrophiliac Limitations" because it just rips and grinds from start to finish and just fucking brutalizes. Overall this album crushes most of the death metal I have heard in the past few years and is a great album to add to your collection! For fans of Enmity, Deeds of Flesh, Putrid Pile, and Skinless! - Daniel Damnation |

This is one of the most promising new bands at this moment and they are causing quite a pestilence all through the international underground scene, evidence to this fact would be their signing to Permeated Records who showcase some of the best newer acts that death metal has to offer. If you are looking for fresh acts the sickest guttural death metal band around, Putridity is certain to give pleasure to your hunger. "Mental Prolapse Induces Necrophilism" caters 9 tracks of relentless brutal death metal, inhumanly deep purulent guttural spewing, pummeling skin pulsation and killer cacophonous breakdowns of severe sounding atrocities! The best description might be something of a Stench of Dismemberment, Disgorge (US) and Devourment combined. The only downside of this CD is that its playing time is way too short. This is definitely one the best death metal releases in 2007 and should give pleasure to everyone into bands mentioned earlier. Grade 8/10 |

Putridity to 3 Wlochów napierdalajacych na modle Disgorge, a wiec brutalnie i do przodu. Precyzyjnie i i miazdzaco. Muzyka momentami wraz z blastami naciera do przodu, a momentami zwalnia by zwalac z nóg ciezkimi, tlumionymi riffami. 7/10 |

This is Italian sick / gore combo, which really makes me thinking about the limits for extreme playing. PUTRIDITY (do you remember the Polish band with the same name? Are they still existing?) plays the most brutal, extreme death / gore metal in the style of some American hordes like DEVOURMENT, DISGORGE, etc. Some riffs may even remind me of ?Tomb of the Mutilated?, but the vocals are much sicker. Actually I?m not a big fan of such deep, piggy vocals, they?re too monotonous, but for sure maniacs will like them. Just imagine that even with the lyrics? sheet it?s impossible to hear what the vocalist is ?growling? at the moment, it?s just so sick and filthy!!! About the lyrics, I have an impression that some feeble readers may feel ill while reading them. A lot of violence, gore, cannibalism, rape, murder, even necrophilia ? a lot of deviations, especially concerning having sex with dead female. Or slicing them, eating slowly? Well, there?s everything in these lyrics, really. These guys have wonderful imagina tion, but I wonder what they wives do think about it ha, ha? But let?s go back to the album. I rather like the music, guitars play some crushing, massive riffs ? both slow and fast ones; the bass guitar is nicely active, reminding me CANNIBAL CORPSE a lot. But as I said, the vocals are just hilarious in some fragments. So, to give it a justice, PUTRIDITY has recorded a decent, but not brilliant album. I?m into different, European death metal, so this is just not really my cup of beer. But extremists will love, you can be sure about that!!! (60) |
MOUTHFORWAR ZINE
Italy’s Putridity splattered onto the brutal death metal scene with their debut Mental Prolapse Induces Necrophilism — leaving bits of flesh and brain matter in their wake. Their first full length sees the band taking brutal death by the neck and stretching it to extremes. The deep, bludgeoning riffs are deeper and slower, the maniacal blasts from the drums leave carnage and battered bones after each track. The production on Mental Prolapse Induces Necrophilism is superb, especially for a genre known for less than stellar production. There is simply an immense wall of sound contained within these nine tracks. Crushing riffs combine with vocals that sound like demons gargling the regurgitated souls of the damned — the are completely indecipherable and evil as fuck. Throw in a few sound clips from your random horror movie and you have the base for one hell of a debut effort. Intro The rather long intro is essentially what sounds like a sound clip from Hostile. There are some added effects to it, but you nothing to bring you back to it each time you put in the disc. Abortifacient whore lobotomizer The first real track on the album lauches the listener head first into a nasty, blood caked wood chipper with hellishly growled vocals. The vocals are key to this album as they are completely indecipherable yet actually have some decent range to them, shifting from ultra deep gurgles to pig squeals. As far as this song is concerned there are some impressive tempo shifts and gnarly, chugging riffs. Molesting vomited decapitation You’ve just got to love the song titles to just about any extreme, brutal death metal album. They’re meant to disgust and revile — the dudes from Putridity have it down to a science and this is their debut album. The riffs so far through this album have been simplistic in nature yet completely bludgeoning in their execution. Zombie oral sex As you can imagine, “Zombie oral sex” is full of disgusting lyrics in broken English — the dudes are from Italy after all — which oddly enough makes it that much more evil and earnest in it’s effects. There are some Cannibal Corpse influence guitar highlights throughout this one, as well. The band shifts tempos nicely from erratic pummeling to a slow, methodical skinning and back again. Conscious in rigor mortis Unrelenting drums and a big growl start this one off in an air of chaos as riff after riff tear through flesh and bone. Layered growls are used to decent effect on “Conscious in rigor mortis” and add a much needed dynamic to the band’s overall sound. It can be a bit one dimensional at times. Fermented entrails Mmmm… I do love me some fermented entrails and so does this trio of Italian death metalers. This one has a great high paced attack with crushing riffs, more Corpse guitar squeals and guttural growls. The drum work is impressive through all of the tempo changes. The guitars at the 1:10 mark are chaotic and impressive. The churning slow down at the 1:55 mark is sick. The layered vocals to end the track are real nice. Necrophiliac limitations There’s a nice cadence to the start of this one that I wasn’t expecting, especially after the neanderthal like approach the band has taken with their brand of straight forward brutal death metal. The groove is quickly swallowed by intestine ripping riffs and teeth shattering drum work. The vocals on this one seem a bit more aggressive fore some reason. Convulsive incestuous devourment Some of the more unique guitar work on the album starts this one off nicely. I would have loved to hear some more of this throughout the rest of album. I can understand the desire to keep things simple and brutal, but that opening bit of guitar work was impressive. This is certainly the most varied track on the album, showing us that the band is capable of much more than they have shown on this debut. Pursue the suicidal breed A brief sound clip and series of movie screams starts this one off as pig squeal vocals pierce the air. As the music finally gets up to speed the vocals take a turn for the guttural as crushing riffs and drums permeate the room. I love the rusty saw blade riffing in the second half of the song. The track fades slowly into more sound clips to tie in the intro. ~ ~ ~ There’s a science to turning a steady stream of relatively simplified riffs into a churning mass of bludgeoning blows to the skull. Putridity seem to have mastered that technique quickly with their debut album Mental Prolapse Induces Necrophilism. The straight foward brutal death metal barely contained in the nine tracks on this disc are sickeningly awesome in every facet — from the guttural growls to the unrelenting drums to the gag reflex inducing lyrics. Not too bad for a debut, if you ask me. User Rating 3,5/5 |

With titles such as "Zombie Oral Sex" or "Molested Vomited Decapitation" you can never go wrong - this is brutal Death/Grind with Gory lyrics. Putridity are three Italian psychos- Ciccio ( guitar/vocals ), Alessandro ( bass ) and the x-Corpsefucking Art member Davide ( drums )- and they are willing to smash your head with uncompromising sound. After the demo "Innate Butchery Aptitude" from 2005, the time for the debut CD has come. Titled "Mental Prolapse Induces Necrophilism", it contains 9 pieces of brutal, heavy as hell, Death Metal. In case you are into bands like Disgorge, Malignancy or Gorgasm, don't hesitate to check out Putridity. They have riffs heavier than a ton of bricks, technical bass lines and solid double-bass, grinding drumming. Above all is the gurgling throat of Ciccio who can bring you nightmares with the sounds coming out from his throat. The cover-artwork is done by John Zig himself - a lot of blood and dismembered corpses typical for his style of painting. "Mental Prolapse Induced Necrophilism" is the type of record that you either love or hate. Those into Death/Grind will find Putridity remarkable, those into "softer" Metal won' t survive a minute of this sonic torture. If you are from the first - go and find Putridity's debut. You won't be sorry! |

VOTO: 80 |

Holy crap this is brutal. The Italian trio Putridity sure knows how to put a capital B in brutal. The band is obviously very inspired by brutal US death metal in the vein of Disgorge and Devourment. The Italians bulldozes everything on their way, but unfortunately the guitars often tend to vanish among the vocals and in particular the drums. It's doesn't spoil the CD, but it's still a shame as a more balanced and meaty sound would likely have benefited the music. Overall Putridity doesn't sound different from so much else brutal death metal, but the music is varied enough for them to get away with it. Most of the time things go really fast, but the Italians have enough self-control to lower the pace and allow a groove part or two in the soundscape as well as make room for the bass to find its way up front. The music may be relentlessly brutal, but there's still work to be done before the Italians reach same calibre as Disgorge or Devourment. However I would recommend looking closer at Putridity if you want your death metal to be ultra violent. Rating: 6/10 |

Italy has to be very proud about bands like Putridity coming from their home country! Even though Putridity just formed in 2006, and have only released a promo before this, the response in the underground has been rumbling! Devourment, Insidious Decrepancy, and Godless Truth take the cake when it comes to sickness, but Putridity’s newest release defies the previously mentioned bands. “Mental Prolapse induces Necrophilism” is a 9 track effort spanning almost 30 minutes in brutality. From the start of “Abortifacient Whore Lobotomizer” to “Pursue the Suicidal Breed” Putridity just kill with offbeat tempos and slow, groovy trips with their guitar attack! The hellish vocals give me a Devourment, Suffocation feel, mix that in with a sickening groove and a blasting brutality attack, and you get a pretty descent recording; the production on this disc is very good for this type of music, Putridity will rise above the underground sooner or later if they keep releasing material like this. This is just pure sickness and brutality beyond the best that death metal has to offer, thumbs up to Putridity on this release! |
